In plain words
- What we collect
- The display name you type, your settings, and — because the game is ad-funded — an advertising identifier.
- Why
- To seat you at a table, and to show ads that pay for the game.
- Who sees it
- The advertising networks named below, under the consent you give. Nobody else.
- What we never do
- No account, no email, no contacts, no location, no payment details — your app store handles money and keeps it to itself.
What lives on your device
29 has no accounts. There is nothing to sign into and nothing for us to store about you. The following stays on your phone, and is removed when you delete the app:
- The display name you type on first launch.
- Your settings — language, theme, text size, table surface and deck, sound and haptics, and which optional rules you play with.
- An unfinished offline match, so you can resume it.
- Whether you have purchased the ad-free unlock.
We do not copy any of this off your device, and there is no cloud backup of it on our side.
Online tables
Offline play sends nothing anywhere. When you join a private room or a quick match, the game server needs the minimum required to seat you and run the hand:
- Sent to the server
- Your display name, the room code if you used one, and the cards you play. Your connection’s IP address is visible to the server, as it is to any internet service.
- Seen by other players
- Your display name and the cards you play. Never your IP address, your device, or anything else.
- Kept afterwards
- Nothing about the hand. Live match state exists only while the table exists and is discarded when it finishes.
Pick a display name you are comfortable showing strangers — a first name or a nickname is plenty.
Advertising
29 is free, and advertising is what pays for it. Ads appear in a fixed strip outside the play surface, plus rewarded ads that run only when you explicitly ask for one. Full-screen ads between hands are not used.
Every network that can serve an ad inside 29 is listed here, with what it receives:
| Network | Serves | Identifier | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Banner strip · rewarded | AAID / IDFA | EU/UK consent manager · iOS tracking prompt |
Any network we add in the future appears in this table, by name, before it serves a single ad.
An advertising identifier is a resettable number your phone gives to apps. It is not your name, and we never link it to one — we have no name to link it to.
Your choices
- On iOS
- The system tracking prompt appears once. Decline it and ads become non-personalised — the game is otherwise identical.
- In the EU & UK
- A consent manager appears before the first ad. Settings → Privacy reopens it at any time, and you may change your answer whenever you like.
- On Android
- Your system settings can delete or reset the advertising ID, and can opt out of personalised ads entirely.
- Anywhere
- Buy the ad-free unlock once and this entire section stops applying to you.
Children
29 is a traditional family card game, but it is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
There is no wagering, no real money play, and no simulated gambling anywhere in the game.
Payments
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation that a purchase succeeded and nothing else: we never see your card, your billing address, or your store account.
A purchase belongs to your store account, not to a profile with us. Reinstall the app and Settings → Restore purchases brings it back. Refunds are handled by your store under its own policy.
Store declarations
What we tell Apple and Google, stated here so you can hold us to it:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Contains ads | Yes |
| In-app purchases | Yes — an ad-free unlock and cosmetic packs |
| Account required | No. There are no accounts at all |
| Data used to track you | The advertising identifier, for advertising, under your consent |
| Data linked to your identity | None — we hold no identity to link it to |
| Real-money gambling | No |
| Account deletion | Not applicable — no account is ever created |
Changes & contact
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and the app tells you on next launch. A new advertising network is exactly such a change.
Questions, or a request about your data: support@houseofthecard.com. A person answers.
